This putter has the initials M. A. stamped on the face. M. A. is Mitch Adcock
who was a former MSU All SEC golfer from 1974-1977.
Mitch was a local golf "legend" when he was growing up in this area. He was originally from Macon
MS but he played most of his golf while in high school at the old Columbus CC.
He was recruited to play golf at MSU by former AD Larry Templeton who was actually the golf coach when Mitch was a
freshman. After that freshman year, the golf coach was Ronnie Moore who I became friends
with during that same time period when I was just learning to play golf.
I remember seeing Mitch out at the old Lakeside Golf Course a lot during that time as the golf team was always
there playing and practicing. Mitch later went on to compete on the Australasian Tour,
South African Sunshine Tour, European Tour, Web.Com Tour, PGA tour, and the PGA
Champions Tour.
I located Mitch in Florida and talked to him about his connection with Scotty Cameron.
He told me that Scotty made him 4 different handmade putters (all "goose" necks with 6 degrees
of loft) and that he sold all of them to a Japanese collector. Two of them have since resurfaced,
COA #A015246 and this putter.
I tracked this putter down to another Scotty collector in Australia and before I purchased it from him, I sent pictures of
the putter to Mitch and he verified that it was indeed one of the 4 that Scotty made for him, even though it does not state
that in the COA description.
