Home > 1998-1999 Titleist Oil Can Classic Newport 2

In 1998 Scotty introduced The Art of Putting model. The Oil Can finish which with it’s varying oily rainbow hues in my opinion is the nicest finish Cameron has done on any OTR putter . The Newport 2 model features a heel/toe weighted head with a more sharp, mechanical look. 1/4 toe hang produces the same toe flow as the Newport, but at address the putters are strikingly different. Scotty describes the Newport as bulbulous, and the Newport 2 as blockier. This is most evident on the back of the putter where the Newport has rounded bumpers and on the Newport 2, the bumpers are more flattened out. The Newport 2 also features a sightline for easy alignment. This putter has the more desirable “oval track” back cavity and was refinished by Black Oxide Services. This is the very first Scotty Cameron that I ever owned and was purchased brand new off the rack at Pro Golf in Tupelo in either 1998 or 1999.
